Join us for an evening of education and fun in the Auditorio de Puerto Calero this Friday 3rd at 8pm
The theme of the event is “Buscando Soluciones a Conflictos Medioambientales” (Searching for solutions for environmental problems). Researchers studying the marina sphere will describe some of the issues currently facing us and how we can contribute to marine conservation.
Alicia Herrera Ulbarri is on a short stop in Lanzarote, fresh from the MICRO2016 and will be talking about her work with Proyecto Microtrofic, studying the impact of microplastic pollution in the oceans.
Marjo Boertjen from Ocean Conservation will be explaining why it is that the Canaries are home to such a rich marine biodiversity and what this means in terms of protecting one of the last remaining habitats for species like the timid angelshark.
Well-known face Gustavo Muler from Astronomia Lanzarote is back with his telescopes to offer us a marvellous astronomy session outside on the terraces where we will be looking at Jupiter and the moon.
The talks will mostly be given in Spanish, although translation can be offered if required. Please let us know if you will need this.
Entry is free, come and celebrate environmental week in Puerto Calero!
