Calero Marinas | Shipyard Services, incorporating prestigious Lanzarote yacht harbours Puerto Calero and Marina Lanzarote have just been announced as the region’s Nautor’s Swan Authorised Service Centre. The collective yard service calls on two ample facilities with over 16.000m² dry standing area, three travel hoists (820tn, 100tn and 90tn) and two keel pits for fixed and retractable keels respectively, making this the largest operation of its kind in the Canarian archipelago.
Nautor’s Swan, whose founding ethos centres around producing “the very best”, has spent nearly half a century designing and building luxurious, high-performance yachts. Unmistakably elegant, Swans enjoy a well-earned reputation as technically advanced and reliably secure ocean-going vessels.
“Introducing an authorised service centre on the Canary Islands into the worldwide network of Swan Services is a very important and strategic step for Nautor’s Swan Customer Care. Many of our yachts, both larger and smaller are based in the Mediterranean waters during the summer but travel to the Caribbean for the winter season.” comments Robert Holm Nautor’s Swan Customer Care Director, “Calero Marinas | Shipyard Services, being placed in Lanzarote is in a very strategic position since most of our yachts actually pass the Canary islands and if needed they can be supported in the way only an Swan authorised service centres can support. All Swan Authorised service centres have access to factory technical support, drawings and original spare parts. Also the service centres annually participate in factory training, providing them with the information and skills to perform the needed service on a Swan yacht.”
Strategically positioned as the first port in the Canary Islands, Marina Lanzarote is a city-based marina, located in the heart of the island’s traditional maritime district. Just 10nm further along the coast, Puerto Calero’s established, award-winning facilities have been attracting sailors to Lanzarote for over three decades. Both marinas are popular with visiting yachts, hosting major transatlantic event fleets and race-training campaigns.
The Calero Marinas team draws on considerable expertise in marina management and services in the Canaries, where Lanzarote in particular enjoys a mild year-round climate and prized sailing conditions. Managing Director Jose Juan Calero expressed his satisfaction with Nautor’s decision: “This is very welcome recognition for our technical team. As a key offshore sailing centre, being able to offer reliable services to an expanding range of yachts is vital. We look forward to supporting Nautor’s Swan customer care programme and working with one of the most eminent names in the industry.”
